In Control

February 18 –19, 2013, in Orlando conference session:

“CSS3 Layout”

For a decade we’ve been using floats for creating CSS layouts, and while they’re still the best choice for creating most multi-column designs, we’ve all been frustrated by their quirks and limitations.

With CSS3, we finally have some new techniques for creating robust multi-column layouts, such as the Flexible Box Layout module (a.k.a. flexbox). You’ll learn about flexbox and other exciting (to us geeks) changes to CSS layout that are just around the corner, how they’ll make developing responsive web sites easier, and which bits are ready to be used now as progressive enhancement.
